Welcome to SquareSpace
In this lesson we are going to:
Choose a SquareSpace template
Adjust our 'site styles' colors
Learn to navigate the rabbit hole of font selection.
Choose the Right Template for Your Business
Below is a quick video demo on template browsing and selecting.
Discount Option: If you would like to save a good chunk of money on the first year of your SquareSpace plan, I can give you my 'designer discount', by activating your template on my end. ONLY if you want to pay for the first year of SquareSpace when your site goes live. My discount is 20%, and you also save 30% by paying annually. So... that's 50% off your first year of SS. You do not have to pay until you are ready to launch your website.
Check out SquareSpace pricing options HERE.
Additionally, kicking off your trial from my account will give you 6 months before you have to either go live (and start paying) or your trial period ends. In other words, you can work on your website for 6 months. However, I certainly don't want you to take that long to go live! I want you out on the web!
Bottomline: if you want my discount and extended trial time, OR if you don't want to pay annually, but you still want my extended trial time, then DM a link to the template you want and I will activate it for you.
Here is a link to all templates, once you have watched the video:

Start Browsing Templates. Head over to SquareSpace and dive into their sea of templates. I will be teaching how to build with their 'latest versions', so just don't click on the link at the very bottom of the page that shows you older version. Something to keep in mind is that their latest version are all basically able to shape-shift into any form. Never mind the look of the template fonts! That's all gonna change.
Here are some of my favorites templates:

Adjusting Your Colors
Action Items:
Setup your primary color palette in your site styles, either using an imported picture or pulling over the color codes from your brand guidelines.
Get comfortable changing the 'color theme' within a 'section' of a web page.
Get comfortable changing specific color aspects of a 'section color theme', inside your 'site styles'. For example, inside your 'LIGHTEST 1' color theme, change the heading color. The goal is that you won't feel frustrated if you want to quickly change a color of your text, a button, etc.. when designing a page. It's easy, just takes getting used to.
Adjusting Your Fonts & Buttons
Visual list of SquareSpace fonts HERE.
Action Items:
Either find your matching fonts that you used in your brand guidelines, or get comfortable digging down the rabbit hole of fonts available to you.
Change your heading fonts, paragraph fonts, button and title fonts.
Reminder of Serif vs Sans Serif fonts, which are typical for paragraph choices:
